Lupe doesnt wanna be Jay-Z

Mr. Lasers himself isnt interested in being the next Mr. Carter.  “I don’t want to be Jay-Z and be worth $400 million and perform on every awards show,” he said to Australian paper The Age.  Lupe wants to go a different route with his music.  “It’s getting in touch with somebody who needs to improve their self-esteem, as opposed to driving a Bentley and putting some chains on.”  Lupe also explained that he didnt see himself as a superstar and instead was interested in making music for his REAL fans.  “I don’t have necessarily the celebrity success they want me to have, but it’s more social success and being able to speak at a college about world affairs. That’s a success to me.”

Runaways 2010

I'm gonna check this movie out when it hits theaters.  The film stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning and it basically depicts the life of the 70's chick band The Runaways.  Although the girl group only last four years, they're rise to fame shot them into sold out shows and world tours.  According to MTV Joan Jett (one of the original Runaways band members) said Kirstan Stewart (who plays Joan in the film) nailed her performance.  Check the trailor below.

Coldest Winter Video

A New Album ain't in Justin T's future at the moment

According to an MTV interview, JT is more interested in fashion at the moment (his latest album was 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds) and he isnt planning on 'forcing the music out'. "You know, music is ... music exploration, I find that when it comes up ... it comes up like a freight train," he said. "So when it does, I definitely won't run from it."  Timberlake also wants to work with some of his new artists as well as work on his fashion empire... let's hope he won't stray away from that next album too long from now :(

I love the idea behind this manicure.  Models at the Ruffian's Fall 2010 runway show were seen with these manicures and according to www.highsnobette.com this is a growing trend that originated in the 1940's.  The moon manicure is very different and fly and I'll keep them in mind next time i hit the nail salon :)

Drake FINALLY chooses 1st single

Over the All-Star weekend, Drake confirmed in an interview that his first single indeed would be entitled 'Over'.  The track is produced by Boi-lda [a fellow Canadian].  This is the same producer who worked on 'Best I Ever Had' and 'Forever'.  Looks like Drake knows how 2 pick a winner so let's how this new single holds up.  No date on when it drops, but I'm guessing soon seeing how his album is expected 2 come out in March.

I'm so excited,  Beyonce and Alicia Keys are shooting a music video for Keys' third single 'Put in a Love Song' off The Element of Freedom.  The video will be shot in Brazil [where Michael Jackson's They Don't Care About Us and Snoop's Beautiful were shot].  The video will be shot over a backdrop of Brazil's landscape, a slum, school and various other places! Can't wait 2 see what they come up with :)

Post-Grammy Pics

So the grammy's went down last night and it was a pretty good show. I enjoyed most of the performances... as far as my favorite.... im gonna have 2 give it to Lady Gaga. She never fails 2 impress me. Runners up are def. Beyonce, Pink, Black Eyed Peas and Drake. The MJ tribute was decent but idk, i thought they were gonna come a little harder this time around.
